Chatham County Public Library OUTREACH SERVICES. Are you or a loved one unable to come to the library due to a hardship or long-term illness? Then let us bring the library to you!
They provide large-print materials, as well as books and audiobooks from our regular collection, to qualifying patrons served by Chatham Community Library, Wren Memorial Library, and Goldston Library. Books and other materials are delivered to qualifying patrons through Outreach Services, which supports the library’s mission to encourage lifelong learning and community engagement by all members of our community.
You may qualify for Outreach Services’ Books and More To Your Door homebound delivery service if you or a loved one are a resident of Chatham County AND are one of the following:
- a recipient of Meals on Wheels
- a resident of a senior care facility in Chatham County
- a participant in an adult day center in Chatham County
- unable to come to the library due to a hardship
You may also apply for short-term services if you are unable to drive due to surgery or major illness. Short-term service is approved at the discretion of the Outreach Coordinator. About Take-Out Central: In 1996 Tarheel Takeout started serving the students of UNC Chapel Hill. At that time gas was $1 a gallon, drivers had walkie talkies and online ordering websites were few and far between.
Tarheel Takeout grew slowly, making mistakes, learning, improving and repeating. Eventually they branched out from Chapel Hill and expanded to the surrounding Triangle Area, re-branding as Takeout Central. You can now find their Delivery Heroes in the Triad as well as Western North Carolina.

Opened in 2016. Co-owners Greg Vassie and Han Su have a combined 35 years of pharmacy experience. Ever since graduating with their Pharmacy Doctorate degrees they have previously worked at several pharmacies since 1999 serving the Pittsboro, Chapel Hill, and Carrboro areas.
Hours: Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. / Saturday: 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. / Closed Sunday.
