Busy week in Congress for Healthy Aging
On Sept. 18, the House Education and Labor Committee adopted an Older Americans Act (OAA) reauthorization bill that includes many positive improvements for chronic disease self-management education (CDSME), falls prevention, and healthy aging in general. In addition, the Senate Appropriations Committee released its proposed FY20 Labor-HHS-Appropriations bill, calling for level-funding for falls prevention and CDSME.
