June 28, 2018
Based on planning and work done by the Fearrington Cares Communication Committee, the website is experiencing a growth spurt! The first of these is the NEWS component, which was launched in June 2018. Several other new site components will also be available later this summer and early fall.
The NEWS content will be updated frequently and will augment our key traditional information streams; FHA Newsletter pages, ECares and posters prepared by Carolyn and John Boyle, Pat Skiver, and Art Lituchy.
The content will be classified by topic labels such as “Featured,” “Focus on Chatham,” “Focus on Education,” “Focus on Technology,” “Fraud and Scam Alerts,” “Health Topics,” “Home and “Near” Environment,” and more. For a short description of each category, see this post. All NEWS page layouts are dynamic and change according to your selections.
If you click to open an article, the layout will change to display the article’s full content, and you will also see that new navigational links arranging content by posting dates and/or by posting categories (depending on your navigation) have been added on the red page header bar across the top. As content grows, these navigational “breadcrumbs” will become increasingly helpful in finding your way around and through the content.
Click around a bit to try out this new site component, come back weekly and let us know what you think of it (firstname.lastname@example.org). Also, please let us know if you’d like to be part of the News Curators Team and we’ll get in touch with you to explain how it works.
