Handyperson volunteers can help residents, if fully vaccinated, with minor, nonemergency home repairs and small maintenance tasks. For example, handypersons can change light bulbs, do minor carpentry and plumbing, program garage door openers, and replace smoke detector batteries. Volunteers cannot move heavy furniture. Because of licensing regulations, they cannot do electrical or major plumbing work.
To schedule a handyperson, call the Center. If you call after hours, leave a message that includes your name, your phone number, and a brief description of your task. A handyperson will contact you within a day or two to arrange a visit.
What Your Neighbors Are Saying:
“I wish to thank Fearrington Cares for sending one of their handymen to change a high ceiling light bulb. Also, my thanks to Rick and other handypersons in our community for providing this service. You are greatly appreciated.”
