Dr. Droke’s COVID-19 Policy Statement
“Limiting visits to Fearrington Village will increase safety related to COVID19. Safety protocols will be taylored to fit each individual home visit. Precautions may include pre-visit screening questions to determine how best to protect individuals at higher risk. I will be wearing a mask and gloves and keeping the social distance as much as possible. Ideal locations to work are the backyard, garage, or a screen room to increase ventilation. I am in contact with the Chatham County Department of Public Health and will continue to consult with them as recommendations develop and change. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or special requests.”
ABOUT DR. LAURIE DROKE: “I am originally from Fort Worth, Texas. In 1998, I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. For the next 10 years I practiced in Palo Alto, California. In 2008, I accepted an international position as a humane society veterinarian in San Pedro, Belize, on the island of Ambergris Caye. The next year, I opened the first private animal hospital on the island, the San Pedro Animal Hospital, along with the associated San Pedro Animal Foundation. During my time in Belize, from 2008 to 2013, I learned the value of serving a community as its veterinarian. I hope to continue my work in a similar role, here in Fearrington Village.”

“We would like to sing the praises of Dr Laurie Droke of Fearrington Veterinary House Calls. Recently it became clear after a long battle with cancer for our dog Mutt, it was time to end the ordeal. We really wanted to do it at our/his home. Neighbors and as our regular vet recommended Dr Laurie Droke to help us in our time of need. When we contacted her, she was able to respond quickly and we had our first visit almost right away. She was great with both us and Mutt. We had scheduled a second visit in a week but only 3 days later it became obvious that the time had come. We called Dr Droke and even though it was a Saturday, she was able to come over that afternoon. Dr Droke is a very compassionate person and helped us immensely through this final process. We don’t think you could find a better vet.”
