Linda Patterson
President
Communications

Linda has a BFA from Ohio Wesleyan University, an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology, and a BS in video production from Emerson College in Boston. After a career as a graphic designer and then as a direct marketer, Linda turned to video production and worked for UNC-TV after relocating from Boston in 2012. Since retiring in 2016, Linda has been volunteering as a Guardian ad Litem for foster children and singing with the Fearrington Village Singers. She served as co-president of the chorus during the 2020-2021 season, as vice-president of Fearrington Cares from 2020-2022, and as president since 2022.

Terry Lucas

Nominating Committee

Terry worked in pediatric nursing for more than 45 years, the last 25 spent in nursing administration. She semiretired from the University of Virginia as Chief of the UVA Children’s Hospital. Terry returned to her home state of North Carolina in 2011 to assist with administration for University of North Carolina Health Care. Later, she became a nurse recruiter for UNC, retiring in 2019. Terry moved to Fearrington Village in 2013 and began volunteering with Fearrington Cares. She has served on the boards of Child Care Networks and Partnership for Children.

Jodi Allen
Secretary
Community Events, Chair

Jodi graduated with a BA in Biology from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. For the last twenty-seven years, she has held commercial leadership roles at start-ups, private-equity, and Fortune 100 companies in the specialty chemical, polymer coatings, and adhesives markets. As a global sales leader, she was responsible for setting commercial strategy, creating teams to execute the strategy, and building relationships with internal and external business partners. Jodi is a process-driven and solutions focused coach.



Mark Asman
Treasurer
Finance Committee

Mark has BA, BS, and MBA degrees from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a PhD in accountancy from the University of Missouri. A licensed CPA in Ohio (inactive) and a Certified Computing Professional, Mark retired from Bowling Green State University as the Ernst & Young Professor of Accounting. He also worked for Ernst & Young, is a life member of the American Accounting Association, and has been a board member and/or treasurer for several nonprofit organizations. His clients have ranged from the USDA Agricultural Research Service to the Wood County Regional Airport in Bowling Green.

Carl Angel
Fund Development
Community Events

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Carl served on several nonprofit boards after retiring in 2006. He became COO for a group of health clinics until 2010 and then led a team that implemented a system to connect records of area clinics and hospitals in central Texas. After a second retirement, Carl continued his volunteer service, most recently as executive director of an agency providing home health aides, transportation, and other services to disabled or low-income seniors. Carl and his wife, Kathleen, moved to Fearrington in 2017. He was president of the Fearrington Homeowners Association from 2019-2021.

Donna Costa
Programs

Donna earned a BS in Occupational Therapy and a BA in Psychology from the University of Buffalo, an MS in Health Care Administration from the New School for Social Research, and a Doctorate in Health Sciences from the University of Indianapolis. She worked as an occupational therapist for 50 years before retiring in 2022 and moving to Fearrington Village. The last 25 years of her career focused on teaching occupational therapy at Stony Brook University in NY, the University of Utah, Touro University Nevada, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is the author of three books on occupational therapy.

Beth Coulombe
Programs, Chair

Beth worked as a lawyer before pursuing a career in nursing.  She spent the last 11 years in nursing leadership at UNC Health as the manager of a nursing unit, multiple clinics, and then as outpatient clinical director. She has extensive experience in health care delivery, compliance, operations, risk management, and quality improvement. Upon her retirement in 2022, she began volunteering with Fearrington Cares on the Programs Committee.  Beth also serves as the Grants Coordinator for the Women of Fearrington and as a board director at Chatham Literacy where she chairs the Governance Committee. Beth and her husband, Marc, moved to Fearrington Village in 2005.


Loretta Muss

Fund Development

Loretta is a retired RN with a degree in American Studies. In Vermont she founded a not-for-profit organization to provide support services to oncology patients and their families as they navigated their cancer journeys. Services included financial assistance, social work, nutrition, and counseling. Twenty-five years later the program is still going strong. In North Carolina, Loretta coordinated an oncology-focused patient and family centered care program for UNC Healthcare.  She recruited and trained large numbers of volunteer patients and caregivers to share their experiences by working closely with staff to develop programs, sitting on committees, and managing process improvements. Loretta and her husband Hy, moved to Fearrington in 2014 and love living here.

JoAnn Pitz

Community Events

JoAnn and her husband moved to Fearrington Village because of the existence of Fearrington Cares. JoAnn earned a BS in Social Work and a MA in Public Administration from Southern Illinois University. She worked as a benefits specialist for the United Mine Workers of America Health and Retirement Funds, and as benefits director for Freeman United Coal Co. She directed a three-county rural health initiative program in a medically underserved area of Illinois. She came to North Carolina to direct the employee benefits office at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. JoAnn has served on the board of Freedom House Recovery Center in Chapel Hill.

Gillian Rogers
Programs


Gillian received a BS in education from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in education from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. She taught elementary school in New Jersey for 31 years and helped raise two stepsons. Gillian and her husband Gene retired to Fearrington Village in 2013. As a volunteer for Women of Fearrington, Gillian tutored school-aged children in reading in Siler City for several years. She is also a Fearrington Cares Ambassador. In her spare time, Gillian enjoys walking, gardening, working out at the Duke Center for Living, museum hopping, and reading mysteries. 

Anna Shearer
Fund Development, Chair


Anna holds a BA in Liberal Arts from St. Olaf College, Minnesota and a MA in American Studies from Georgetown University. She retired as Vice President, Human Resources, after fifteen years at the American Red Cross National Headquarters. She served four years on the Fearrington Village Swim and Croquet Club Board, is the current President of the Bulls and Bears Investment Club, and serves on the Board of the Professional Art Quilters Alliance South. Anna and her husband moved to Fearrington Village from Washington, DC in 2017. She is a regular volunteer driver for Fearrington Cares and has participated in Fearrington Cares support groups during her husband’s illness and following his death.
