Driver: Provide transportation for residents to/ from medical appointments, or pick up prepaid grocery or pharmacy orders, within a 25-mile radius. Work on a team of 2-3 drivers assigned to cover one week every six months. Safe driving skills, a current driver’s license, and insurance are required.

Back-up driver: Provide transportation to help assigned drivers, as needed, when demand is high.

Handyperson: Perform minor home repairs or maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and fixing leaky faucets, based on your availability. Basic home repair skills and the use of own tools are required.

Handyperson Coordinator: Receive requests from the Fearrington Cares Center approximately one week per month, and coordinate assistance from the Handyperson volunteer list.

Fearrington Cares Ambassador:Welcome new neighbors and briefly describe Fearrington Cares’ services and programs. Highlight new and upcoming programs for neighbors via email, in-person, etc.

Committee Member: Help advance Fearrington Cares’ mission by joining a committee (Programs, Community Events, Finance, Communications, and Fund Development). Most committees meet monthly or quarterly throughout the year. Meetings typically last an hour.

Program and Events Support: Help with one-time events or programs (e.g., setting up chairs, registration, refreshments).

Fearrington Cares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the healthy aging of Fearrington Village residents. Our mission is primarily accomplished through services and programs provided by volunteers who live in the community.
